Your Handcrafter

Hi, my name is Michelle and welcome to my website. I am the owner and your handcrafter here at Pure Soaps.  I handle all aspects of the business from formulating, making, design, packaging , sales and service.  My journey into body care started about the middle of 2010.  I started out making things like body butters, lotions and  natural hair gels for my frizzy mop called hair.  I later began making  soaps for myself ... Making my first batch was fun and challenging, and one that ended as a complete flop! But I didn't give up and things managed to get a lot better... and so did my skin.

Over the years I continued to fine tune my formulations to make a higer quality bar of soap, as well as to add new products to my line.  Our products are made in small batches to ensure quality. Our soaps are crafted the old fashioned way using sodium hydroxide (Lye). which is then blended with our choice of oils to produce loaves and after 24 hours the loaves are cut and sliced by hand and cured on our highly sophisticated drying racks (bread racks) for 30 days.  Although this method does take time, this style of cold process soap-making is my preferred method for making bar soaps, as it allows me to bring a touch of artistry to each and every batch, which in turn makes people smile while they are enjoying the scents.

Our soaps are made in Brampton, Ontario. Using ingredients that are simple to read and understand, which takes the confusion out of what you are applying to your skin. Some of my preferred oils are Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, and exotic oils like Neem.  Many of our products are made from food grade ingredients that are sourced locally from around the Greater Toronto Area. Some specialty oils and butters such as shea butter or cocoa butter are sourced from reputable suppliers or are ordered directly from the producer themselves.
